Description

Pars for Peyton is a Golf Tournament and Dinner Event.  All proceeds benefit the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research and fund critical research for Prader-Willi syndrome(PWS), a rare genetic condition our daughter, Peyton, was born with.  The event is filled with fun!  We start the day with golf events/contests on the putting green and the driving range, and then a shotgun start for 18-holes of 'best ball' golf.  The golfers will enjoy drinks, snacks, lunch and prizes on the course.

In the evening, the dinner guests arrive around 5pm for a cocktail hour and time to enjoy bidding on the amazing live and silent auction items.  Meanwhile, the golfers finish their golf game and come inside to join everyone for golf awards, cocktails, a dinner reception and program with a live and silent auciton.  It is a day/evening to remember all in the name of life-changing research.

Prader-Willi syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that occurs in approximately one out of every 15,000 births.  Children with PWS are missing a piece of their 15th chromosome and this affects hormones, muscle strength, behavior, cognition and learning, temperature regulation, pain tolerance, sleep patterns, and appetite.  One of the most challenging and defining symptoms of PWS is hyperphagia, or an insatiable appetite.  Children with PWS feel hungry all the time, regardless of how much they eat.  They also struggle from a slow metabolism and must keep on a very strict diet in order to avoid life threatening weight gain.  Without contiuous supervision, our children are constantly at risk for overeating to a point of stomach rupture.

As parents of a remarkable and inspiring child with PWS, we have decided to be as proactive as possible in helping to fund research for this challenging disorder.  We know that through medical research, we can help to eliminate the many hurdles that Peyton and others with PWS face on a daily basis.  We are racing against the clock to help fund research that will be able to help Peyton during her childhood.

In kind donations are critical to our success and we would be thrilled if you would consider donating goods or services towards our live and silent auction.  Thank you in advance for helping to make the 6th Annual Pars for Peyton Event a huge success and for ensuring that Peyton and others living with Prader-Willi Syndrome will one day be able to live full and independent lives.

Many Thanks for Your Kindness and Support,

The Snyder Family
