Description

The Native Prairies Association of Texas (NPAT) is a nonprofit membership organization and an accredited land trust. NPAT is excited to be holding a Silent Auction on October 1, 2022, at River Walk Hall in Flower Mound. We would greatly appreciate any donation that you can offer to include in our Silent Auction. As part of our thank you, donations received by September 1, 2022 will be acknowledged in our Auction Program, which is distributed to approximately 125 event attendees. Donators are also promoted to our fans on Facebook, Instagram, and our event webpage. All proceeds from the event will benefit our North Texas Outreach and Stewardship Program (Program). This Program is dedicated to the education, conservation, restoration, and appreciation of native prairies, savannas, and other grasslands in Texas. The Program protects prairies through acquisition, partnerships, and conservation easements. NPAT has conserved more than 5,000 acres of native Texas prairie, including 1,340 acres of endangered tallgrass prairie. The Program restores native prairies on our own lands, works with our landowners to restore their lands, and promotes restoration on other private and public lands to benefit the native plant communities, pollinators, grassland birds and other prairie wildlife of Texas. The Program shares informational resources and advice on restoration. The Program teaches about the prairie and its value through its chapter efforts, workshops, presentations, field trips and many types of volunteer opportunities. The event will include experts from the private, urban planning, property development, and natural resources sectors will engage in a broader conversation about how open spaces and prairies can coexist with regional urban development. Thank you for considering this charitable donation request.
