Description

Dear Community Arts Supporter,

We at The North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) are excited to announce our upcoming annual PERFORM-A-THON, a benefit for Youth Music Scholarships, to be held on Saturday, April 2nd with both virtual and in-person elements, to be live streamed to the public! This is a five-hour-long free community event filled with performances by our students and faculty, virtual games, performer prizes, and raffles!

NEMPAC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community music school and professional performing arts center operating out of the North End, Charlestown, and surrounding neighborhoods in the City of Boston! This year, as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, our mission has proven more important than ever before: to ensure high-quality music education and performing arts programs that are accessible to ALL. NEMPAC empowers artists of all ages and abilities through our community music school and through partnerships with 6 Boston Public and private schools.

NEMPAC’s Scholarship Fund provides low-income families or under-served children with access to high-quality music and arts programs. In addition, while upholding competitive compensation for our skilled artistic faculty, we’ve also been able to sustain overall lower tuition which, based on data collected across Massachusetts schools in August 2019, were 30% lower than other comparable schools. This event will directly support our Youth Scholarship Fund and we hope you will be a part of our momentum!

Our goal for this year’s Perform-a-thon is to raise $15,000 to support the high increase in demand for need-based scholarships we’ve seen this year! Students that sign up to perform will collect pledges from their family, friends, and community members to support their fellow student musicians in need of scholarships. We would love to have your support in our raffle this year by donating an item to be included in our raffle packages.

Last year’s event surpassed all goals by raising over $16,315 for the NEMPAC Scholarship Fund. With your help, I’m sure we can make this year another successful year! If you are interested in contributing in any way, we would greatly appreciate it.

Please let me know if you are able to support us or would like additional information about this event or NEMPAC.

Best Regards,

Allie Carufel
