Description

The Peterborough Players Live Auction and Gala is back! We are excited to offer an array of outstanding items, services, and adventures to our past participants and first-time bidders. Thank you for joining us!

Peterborough Players is a cultural treasure; an 88-year-old, fully professional Equity theatre in an unexpected setting—an historic barn, 3 miles outside of downtown Peterborough, NH. Normally, the theatre offers a traditional summer season from June through September, a three-play winter season, HD Live at the Met operas and London’s National Theatre offerings, all with a challenging repertoire ranging from the classics of world literature, to the best of contemporary theatre, and recently pieces from the American musical theatre as well. The Players produces professional theatre at a level of quality that has gained it a significant national reputation “American summer repertory theatre at its most accomplished” – Terry Teachout, The Wall Street Journal.

“The Barn”, now renovated to a welcoming 250 seat theatre is a cultural and economic cornerstone drawing audiences from all over the Monadnock region and beyond, fulfilling its historic mission to: “Enrich the human experience by producing quality live professional theatre, developing and training theatre artists, and offering New Hampshire a wide variety of performing arts events.” To this end, our second company of interns and apprentices spend each summer season learning all aspects of the craft and typically produce two shows a season especially created for young audiences.

Through the extraordinary generosity of some special friends, in 2021, the Players was able to renovate our beloved rehearsal hall and build the new outdoor "Elsewhere Stage" to accommodate open-air performances in 2021. Look for events on this stage to complement indoor performances in The Barn in future seasons.
