Pickin' for Autism is a benefit concert, silent auction, and so much more that was started in 2014 by 3 passionate teachers who just wanted to throw a party to make some money for the school and the students they cared so deeply about. Pickin' for Autism is sponsored by the Lionsgate Foundation, who supports Lionsgate Academy, a local charter school with locations around the Twin Cities. LGA has a mission to foster self-determination by providing a transition-focused, personalized education for all, specializing in educating autistic learners. Even though LGA is a free, publicly funded school, there are many "extras" that our students need to be successful learners which aren't covered by the typical funding that schools get. The money raised supports community-based instruction opportunities, technology needs, and learning experiences catered to our learner's unique needs. 

All these years later, Pickin' is still going strong! At Pickin' you hear folk and bluegrass music by local favorites. In past years we've welcomed acts like The Lowest Pair, Farewell Milwaukee, Erik Koskinen, Chirs Castino, Katey Belleville, San Souci, Kind Country, Lenz and Frenz, and so many musically talented friends!
