Description

Like too many Long Islanders, most MacArthur students have experienced a relative fighting breast cancer - moms, aunts, grandmothers, sisters, cousins and friends. As a result, our football teams united with other students to dedicate a night football game to raise money for breast cancer research called "Pink Out."  On October 20th, MacArthur High School will host its 6th annual Pink Out Football Game. MacArthur staff and local businesses will join together, to give generously in an effort to help continue the mission toward finding a cure for breast cancer. All monies raised support Susan G. Komen for the Cure and raise awareness within the school and community.

Pink will replace the traditional red, white, and blue school colors. Members of the MacArthur football team will wear pink socks and the cheerleaders, band, and fans will be adorned in pink. The evening's atmosphere is one of excitement as the fans cheer on the Varsity Football team.  During the "Pink Out" football game, there will be great items sold, including pumpkins, dream catchers and Christmas ornaments. In addition, baskets donated by parent clubs and businesses, near and far, will be raffled off throughout the game. The event, spearheaded by Tammy Mayer and Nicole Savage, who are both breast cancer survivors, has raised over $60,000 in the past 5 years.  They are looking to reach an overall goal of $70,000 this year.   This event brings together the students, faculty, administration and the Levittown community.
