Description

Founded in 1998, Project by Project (PbP) is a 100% volunteer-based grassroots leadership development incubator aimed at building a pipeline of Asian Americans in philanthropy. Through innovative platforms for hands-on and skills based volunteering, PbP fosters AAPI civic engagement and advocacy by leveraging our volunteers to serve local nonprofits in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Each year, PbP selects a national campaign to champion. We select a local AAPI nonprofit partner to develop a year long campaign in three areas. In doing so, we develop leadership skills for our (200+ member) Steering Committee while raising awareness and funds for local AAPI nonprofits. This year's theme is combating food insecurity and our beneficiary partner is Thai Community Development Center (Thai CDC)

Plate by Plate is the oldest and largest AAPI volunteer-run fundraising gala in the nation. Every year, we celebrate community advocacy and philanthropy, bringing people together to enjoy food, beverages, and desserts from local Los Angeles restaurants. Previous sponsors include ARES Management, SoCalGas, CTBC Bank, Sunright Tea Studio, and Chubby Cattle.
