Description

Playground Fest and Silent Auction will be held on May 19th, 2024 in the school garden at PS414 Brooklyn Arbor Elementary.

Playground Fest is a warm weather celebration with local Williamsburg food trucks, recycled art and STEM projects, a bounce house and local children’s vendors with summer camp information. Brooklyn Public Library will both be in attendance this year to share books with our Pre-K to 5th Grade community. We are hosting a silent auction to help support a myriad of student enrichment programs, academic tutoring, equity teacher training, cultural diversity events, and much more.

This year, public school budgets have already been slashed, and more cuts are coming. Brooklyn Arbor is currently working to pay down a $73,000 deficit, and the Parent Association is doing all we can to help accomplish that goal this year so our students won’t lose their beloved guidance counselor next year. We cannot overstate how much your support would mean - our students need it more than ever.

Brooklyn Arbor is a vibrant school with a focus on global studies and the environment. We are a public elementary school in bustling South Williamsburg, Brooklyn that truly serves its diverse community. The teachers at Brooklyn Arbor are energetic, fun, and creative, and our visionary administration is incredibly supportive of our families and well-organized. In addition to learning a mastery of the basics, our school community works hard to provide numerous enrichment opportunities for our students, from field trips to music instruction, after school programs like drama and debate, large scale community art projects, gardening, and much, much more. The Parent Association is comprised of parents who volunteer their time to fundraise for all these enrichment programs as well as overall building maintenance, the student financial assistance fund, greening our school, and other basic needs for our students.

We would greatly appreciate your consideration and generosity.
