LIFE has given out over 350,000 free books!

The LIFE program is a free book-a-month program for all children living in Whiteside County from birth to age 5. Each month, a new, carefully selected book is mailed in the child’s name directly to their home. When a child is read to regularly during their first years, they are given the biggest boost toward a successful education. LIFE is one of the most effective ways to inspire the joy of reading for children. This past year we mailed almost 20,000 books to children in Whiteside County.

LIFE is a standalone program of the United Way of Whiteside County. This fundraising virtual event “Power of the Purse” will help us to continue this program. LIFE is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, FIN 20-0783126.

In addition to the visibility of your item/brand online, donations valued at $150 or more will also be featured on our Facebook page with a weekly reach of over 2,500 people.
