Description

Thank you for considering our request! The Love for London Town is the biggest benefit for the London Town Foundation (dba Historic London Town and Gardens). This is the first year our benefit is going virtual. As with past benefits, it’ll feature a silent auction. Previous benefits have brought together over 200 people and raised nearly $50,000 for Historic London Town and Gardens' educational, historical and horticultural programs. If selected for donation, we will be happy to acknowledge your generosity on our auction website, in our social media, and through our emails.

Located just outside of Annapolis in Edgewater, Maryland, Historic London Town and Gardens reveals a “lost” colonial town and shares a beautiful garden sanctuary at the crossroads of the Chesapeake Bay. Each year, London Town educates over 5,500 students and teachers and welcomes over 10,000 general and special events visitors to our historic site (including the c.1760 William Brown House, a National Historic Landmark) and 10 acres of woodland and ornamental gardens, all along the South River.

With the advent of COVID-19, London Town has adapted to continue providing history and gardens to the public. We continue to be open with our gardens providing a place of rejuvenation during this difficult time. Additionally, we’ve modified our public programs so as to continue offering family and adult in-person programs. They are now limited in the number of attendees, held outside, and spaced out for everyone’s safety. We are also working with the schools to provide virtual educational experiences on local colonial history. There is a virtual tour of the William Brown House available for everyone while the building itself is closed.
