Description

Originally envisioned as a 2-year project when founded in 1992, Project QUEST is proud to be celebrating our 30th anniversary this year. This significant milestone is born out of the work of our founding community, business and government leaders, staff, and our engrained commitment to changing lives. These three decades of work have led to changing the lives of over 8,000 individuals and their families, a documented positive impact on the region's economy, and above all, playing a role in combating generational poverty for countless generations.

Project QUEST’s (QUEST) mission is to strengthen the economy and transform lives by preparing individuals for in-demand, living-wage careers. Individuals receive access to training in Healthcare, Information Technology/Cybersecurity, and Trades/Advanced Manufacturing that lead to post-secondary degrees or industry-recognized certifications. QUEST’s model is focused on training, economic stability, emergency assistance, and providing the tools necessary for a participant to be successful long-term. QUEST’s goal is to break the generational cycle of poverty and help QUEST participants out of poverty.

QUEST serves young adults (18+) throughout San Antonio (and Bexar County) who are unemployed (no job), underemployed (low-paying jobs below their education or skill level), or under-skilled (do not possess the skills required to compete for living-wage jobs). Generally, these individuals represent the underserved community where limited resource availability creates barriers to economic mobility. From its inception, one of Project QUEST’s driving principles is equity by working with the underserved.

As a nonprofit born out of the necessity to respond to a community need, our 30 years of sustained work and success relies heavily on the financial support from community and business partners such as yourself.  One significant way you can support the life-changing work of Project QUEST is to join us as an individual or corporate sponsor at Project QUEST’s 30th Anniversary Annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Witte Museum’s Mays Family Center.

A highlight of this year’s event will be honoring the individuals and organizations that were instrumental in the establishment of Project QUEST.  We will do so by announcing our inaugural class of inductees to our Wall of Honor. As we celebrate the past 30 years, Project QUEST’s President & CEO, David J. Zammiello, SPHR will provide an update on the state of the organization.
