Provident’s annual Rooster Run raises funds and awareness for the agency’s mission of helping individuals and families to a brighter future through counseling, crisis intervention and community support programs.
Last year’s second annual run brought 343 participants and more than 60 volunteers to Forest Park. This event raised $40,000, allowing Provident to continue to provide quality services to its 28,000 annual clients.

Run details will be posted on social media sites and online race calendars. Flyers will be distributed to running stores, clubs and during local 5Ks. The run will be regularly featured in Provident’s e-newsletter which reaches 1,600+ readers.


Roosters provide a wake-up call. With 1 in 5 individuals suffering from a mental illness each year and a person dying by suicide every 13 minutes, we feel a wake-up call is needed.
The Rooster Run is Provident’s way of encouraging people to wake up, start a conversation, and support the improvement of mental health in the St. Louis region.
