Due to considerable ongoing budget cuts imposed by Federal, State and City agencies in the wake of financial distress the goal of our school is to raise the much-needed funds for enrichment programs and activities that will enhance the education and experience of our school children.

P.S. 57 is located in Park Hill, a multicultural community where a significant percentage of households are from diverse backgrounds. Unfortunately, our community also experiences some of the highest levels of poverty in New York City. According to a recent survey by the NYC Department of Health, over 78% of households in our neighborhood live below the poverty line. Due to our students coming from these at-risk communities, P.S. 57 is determined to find ways to provide the same opportunities and experiences for its students that are afforded to those in higher-income areas of the tri-state area.

On May 31, P.S. 57 will be hosting our first gift auction. Based on the enthusiasm of our parents and supporters, we anticipate a sellout affair with over 100  adults attending. In order for this event to be a success, we are reaching out for your support with a "contribution" whether it be a gift certificate, monetary donation, or merchandise that will be raffled off that evening. All proceeds from the gift auction will go directly toward these enrichment programs benefiting the students of P.S. 57. Upcoming projects in the pipeline include supplies for artistic murals around the school building, the creation of a school garden to foster the social, emotional, and fine motor skills of our students, and school uniforms for all students to promote a sense of community and leadership.

We intend to honor each contributor by publishing their names in a program that will be provided to each guest.
