PUC Elementary students and community members will be creating and racing Pinewood Derby cars. There will be prizes for the fastest cars, as well as for best decorated. Our decorating theme this year is "Holidays." Students will be selling raffle tickets in the community for larger prizes, and there will be a silent auction at the event for prizes donated from the community. In addition, local businesses donate sponsorships and have their logo put on our derby t-shirts. All income from the sponsorships, raffle, and silent auction, as well as from registration fees, will go toward replacing our decaying plumbing at the school. Individual classrooms will also have food and game booths at the event to raise money for their outdoor education trips and other classroom needs.
