YWCA of Central Virginia Annual Purse & Passion event will be held in May 2021 virtually.  This dinner and silent auction works to bring awareness about domestic violence during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and its links to sexual assault/violence and housing insecurity for women and girls.

Funds raised from our Purse & Passion event will be used to continue our critical program including:

• Domestic Violence Prevention Program (DVPP) includes two (2) 24/7 emergency safe shelters located in the City of Lynchburg and Campbell County, along with our community only safe child supervised visitation center.
• Sexual Assault Response Program (SARP) with 24/7 crisis response to our local emergency departments to ensure all victims and survivors have access to care, compassion, and critical assistance as they heal.
• Town Center Residential Housing provides a safe and affordable community-style living for low-income adult women.
• Racial Justice Programming includes our annual Side By Side event and free 21 Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge educational opportunities.
