ABOUT US: 

Scotland Memorial Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Scotland Health Care System, a rural nonprofit health care system serving the communities of Scotland, Robeson, and Richmond counties in North Carolina and Marlboro County, South Carolina. These counties are among the poorest communities in North and South Carolina and have some of the highest unemployment rates in these states. Despite the tough economic circumstances faced in these communities, Scotland Memorial Foundation is committed to assisting Scotland Health Care System in providing high quality; compassionate health care – one patient at a time.

ABOUT THE EVENT:

Our annual gala, Putting on the Ritz takes place every Fall and is the largest source of revenue to fund critical community health programs and services including, but not limited to:

♦ Mammograms for women with financial concerns

♦ Free health screenings such as A1C, blood pressure, and cholesterol

♦ Wigs and personal care items for cancer patients

♦ Prescriptions, medical supplies, and equipment for those less fortunate

♦ Scholarships for high school seniors pursuing a career in the health care industry

♦ Free sports physicals to middle and high school students

♦ Community Health Education Programs

♦ Funding for Community Support Groups

♦ Patient and Family Travel Assistance Fund

♦ “Henley’s Heart Fund” - Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Patient Assistance

♦ Charles L. “Chuck” Hicks, Jr. Memorial Fund - Cardiovascular Patient Assistance
