Description

The QCYC in an annual, bi-state, two-day conference.  The first day of the conference is for junior high students and the second day is focused on high school students.  Each day includes a keynote presentation, community resource/college/career fair, lunch, and workshops the students get to choose.  The QCYC has been serving the youth of Henry, Rock Island, Scott and surrounding counties for over 35 years.  In 2020 we served over 900 youth and it was an incredible event.  This conference brings youth together and empowers them to be who they are created to be.  It is truly one of a kind and  is entirely volunteer run and dependent on the generosity of others.

QCYC Mission:

A.      Provide youth with the opportunity to enhance decision-making skills that are necessary for living in a socially complex world and to establish contacts with community resources.

QCYC Goals:

A.      Motivate young people to make positive healthy decisions.

B.      Help young people develop decision-making skills.

C.      Gain knowledge of agencies that will support young people in addressing pertinent current issues that are part of today’s culture.

D.      Bring together community agencies to better utilize funding and prevent duplication of services.

E.       Help bridge communication between parents and teenage children.
