Description

The 8th Annual Race Against Poverty will be held June 1, 2018.  With a fun, festive enviroment, many runners and walkers are making this race a new tradition as a way to make a positive difference in our community.

South Cental Community Action Program mission statement - To empower families and engage the community to  pursue innovative and effective solutions to break the cycle of poverty.

Vision statement - South Central Communtiy Action Program envisions communities where all citiizens are able to meet their needs; including but not limited to, medical and daental coverage, shelter, food and childcare.  The opportunity exists for all citizens to maintain a quality lifestyle, and become self-sufficient.  Their potential to grow is enhanced by gaining additional skills and education, utilizing community resources and volunteerism.  South Central Community Action Porgram through community involvement is able to effect societal change to support this vision, so that citizens who temporarily fall beow 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines find support.
