Kids arrive on our doorstep for a number of reasons. Many flee for their lives, or to escape physical, sexual or emotional abuse. Divorce, parental job loss, or problems with step-parents are some other reasons that kids end up on the streets.

Horizons for Youth helps keep youth off the streets. We provide safety, shelter, food, and programs, giving these young people a chance.

Our youth attend programs during the day in areas like budgeting, healthy cooking, personal development, positive relationships and wellness. Through formal and informal workshops, recreational activities and real-life situations, we assist youth as they navigate these crucial, critical, and formative years.

A major component of our services centres around attaining and maintaining housing, whether that is in the form of assisted living or maintaining independent housing.

Our annual fundraiser is a ton of fun! A gourmet buffet dinner, raffle, silent auction, and best of all, the horse races are right in front! And the casino is open too!
