Raider Awakening Retreat #64
Other Event Type for St. Elizabeth University Parish/ Raider Catholic at Texas TechOct 08, 2021 3:00 PM to Oct 10, 2021 2:00 PM
Raider Awakening is a retreat by college students for college students. One retreat, involving around 300 students, is held each semester. This retreat program is hosted by the Catholic Student Association at Texas Tech University, an organization sponsored by St. Elizabeth University Parish.
The Raider Awakening program is over 30 years old and has impacted the lives of thousands of students as they seek to deepen their relationship with Christ through participation, planning, running, and evaluation of this program. It is largely because of the success of this program that the Catholic Student Association has become the largest student-led organization on the Texas Tech campus. The actual retreat revolves around a small group-oriented environment, which provides retreaters with a family atmosphere. Like many spiritual retreats, much time is spent listening to different themed talks and discussing personal reflections. All students are welcome to this Catholic retreat. At Raider Awakening the sacraments are readily available. The mains goals of the Raider Awakening retreat are to help students grow in their Catholic faith as well as to become more involved at the Catholic Student Center and to meet other students.
While we do not have an exact date for the Raider Awakening retreat yet, it will be in either late September or October in the fall of 2021. The retreat goes from a Friday to a Sunday, so it takes most of the weekend. We also do not have an exact location yet, but some of the past retreats have been held at Christ the King Cathedral in Lubbock, and it is a potential location for our next retreat in the fall as well.
