Description

PS 11 is a neighborhood public school with over 800 families in grades Pre-K to 5 that is located in the Clinton Hill area in Brooklyn. As a top performing school in District 13, and in the top 5% in NY State, PS 11 families come from Bed Stuy, Clinton Hill, Fort Greene and surrounding areas. Raise 11 will provide an opportunity to reach over 2,000 adults in the households of students and alumni. We are a community of families representing different industries: restaurant, publishing, tech, legal, civil service, education, non-profit, art, politics and retail. Our parent body is a highly engaged school community, who "buy local" and support services that benefit their neighborhood. Join us and partner with a school that balances rigorous academics with a love and dedication to the arts.

Now in its 16th year, our fundraiser supports numerous arts and STEM programs.  This year we are highlighting that the PTA spends approximately $500 per student on enrichment activities that we consider essential to a well-rounded education. At PS11, we firmly believe in the scientific research evidencing that quality enrichment programing is a basic building block of intelligence that supports academic achievement and healthy social development. Accordingly, we thoughtfully invest in integrating a host of experiences into our core curriculum on top of the full-time enrichment staff and programming that the school budget supports. These residencies include dance, drumming, capoeira, choir, swim, music,
garden science, free academic support, recess coaches and more. The funds we raise from Raise 11 will determine if we can keep the same level of enrichment and if we can expand our children’s opportunities next school year. These opportunities are made possible by the generous support of the families and friends of PS 11. We hope you will partner with us to help keep enrichment programming at our school and
continue its powerful role in our students’ interdisciplinary success.
