2023 Community Leadership Award Presentation Honoring Sumeet Shrivastava

Join the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia on Friday, October 6th at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner for the 2023 Raise the Region Gala.

The Community Foundation welcomes more than 600 business, philanthropic and community leaders each fall at this signature, black-tie event that serves as a celebration of the power of local philanthropy to help build a community that works for everyone.   Raise the Region provides critical funding for the Community Foundation to continue programs like Insight Region, our research center, and our Community Investment Fund grant cycles, where community volunteers serve as application reviewers and decision makers to make more than a $750,000 in grants to local nonprofits.

A pillar of the Gala celebration each year is the Community Leadership Award, presented annually for outstanding community service and dedication to improving the quality of life for all Northern Virginians.  This year’s award will be presented to Sumeet Shrivastava, a seasoned business executive, philanthropist, and a proud Northern Virginian who believes that when young people have the tools and opportunities within their own communities to learn, grow, and thrive, the sky's the limit. A product of the Fairfax County public school system, Sumeet has leveraged his success as a government contracting executive with three decades of experience to give back to the community and region that raised him.
