Description

The “Raise the Roof” 11th Annual Gala & Auction to be hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the UMass Lowell Inn & Conference Center in Lowell, Massachusetts.  This premiere event is our largest fundraiser of the year, a truly enjoyable event, with over 325 guests socializing, enjoying a cocktail reception, 3-course plated dinner, bidding on silent and live auction items, and hearing from our partner families how their lives have changed thanks to all of our supporters.

Early Bird Tickets will go On Sale Jan 8th :  $100 pp

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell services 15 towns in Northern Middlesex County, MA including: Bedford, Billerica, Burlington, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Dracut, Dunstable, Lowell, Reading, Tewksbury, Tyngsboro, Wakefield, Westford and Wilmington.  We impact 5-10 families each year as well as engaging the services of 1400+ volunteers annually.  Habitat provides the opportunity for lower income families to become homeowners. These families help build their home, take financial classes and pay an affordable mortgage.  Habitat also repairs homes of veterans, elderly and disabled so they may remain in their homes.  Habitat offers a ‘hand up’ not a hand out.

Since 1991, Habitat for Humanity has helped 141 families find strength, stability and independence through safe, decent and affordable shelter. 40 homes have been built or renovated locally; 31 critical home repairs have been completed for our local veterans, disabled or seniors; and 70 homes were funded and built globally because of our fundraising and commitment to end poverty housing.

Your charitable donation will provide something priceless to our organization: it empowers people, our sponsors to keep supporting us with monetary support, our volunteers to keep signing up to help on the build sites and most importantly our partner families, who attend 22 hours of financial planning classes, a money matters class, and put in 225-450 sweat equity hours building their own home depending on family size.

The vast majority of our supporters live in the warmth and comfort of a safe home.  Unfortunately, the reality is something different for many people living nearby who struggle to keep a roof over their heads.  For some it seems that there is no way out of substandard housing.  Then hope appears in the form of Habitat for Humanity.  Instead of rent, utilities and seemingly endless repairs, more of the family's income can go toward savings, education, and healthcare - all things that strengthen a family.

We know you agree, everyone needs a safe, decent place to live and to call home.

We plan to promote and publicize this event with customized graphics used on a wide variety of mediums; including custom website landing page, email announcements, printed collateral materials such as flyers/posters/event program, Facebook event listing, as well as an extensive social media strategy including Facebook, twitter, instagram and Linked In.
