The Janus School will host our twenty-third Raising Spirits benefit on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at our campus in Mount Joy. This annual event is our largest and most critical fundraiser, supporting our students with learning differences.  I am asking you to support this important event by donating an item, service, or experience from your business to the evening’s auction.

Since the inception of Raising Spirits in 2002, we have raised over $1M for educational programming and financial aid that benefits families for whom tuition is a financial burden. Janus is the only independent school in Central Pennsylvania dedicated to helping students with language- or math-based learning disability, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), executive function difficulties (EFD), nonverbal learning disorder, or auditory processing disorder. Over 40% of our current students come from mid- to moderate-income families and qualify for some form of financial assistance that makes their child’s education at Janus possible.

All proceeds of Raising Spirits directly benefit The Janus School. Our goal for this year’s event is to raise $85,000 in financial aid for the 2024-2025 school year.

Janus families come to us after navigating their child’s diagnosis and searching for resources that will help their child succeed at school. Many of our students have been told that they can’t do certain things because of their learning differences, so they believe that learning is impossible and associate school with stress, anxiety, and hopelessness. At Janus, we assure all of our students that they can do hard things. Sometimes, the biggest challenge our students face is believing in their own abilities. The Janus difference is our approach to teaching and focusing on each student’s unique learning needs. We give our students the tools they need to achieve academic success and lead happy, independent lives where they are their own biggest advocates.
