The Adult Literacy League is a non-profit organization that has been teaching adults in Central Florida operating at the lowest levels of literacy how to read, write and speak English since 1968. We do this by pairing students with volunteer one-on-one tutors to work with them on their individual learning goals and through group classes happening online via Zoom and in-person throughout Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties. We are proud to serve about 1,000 students per year. As a direct result of our adult education programming, Central Floridians are becoming U.S. citizens, getting their GEDs, purchasing homes, raising literate children and so many other amazing milestones.

Each year, we host an annual fundraising event called Reading Between the Wines, which features a silent auction, food and wine from some of Central Florida’s best restaurateurs and a NY Times Bestselling special guest author for the evening. We’re thrilled to announce that this year’s event will feature not one, but FOUR bestselling guest authors (Kristen Arnett, Colleen Oakley, Sarah Penner and Jeneva Rose) at the beautiful Winter Park Events Center, on Thursday, October 26. We’re certain it will be a night to remember.
