Rebozos y Guayaberas Tardeada Fundraiser with Dinner, Dancing, & Silent Auction
It’s a CAUSE for a fiesta! Please wear your best rebozo or guayabera and join us for our Rebozos y Guayaberas tardeada fundraiser at the Mexican Heritage Plaza Pavilion in San José. Included with our guest's ticket is dinner and non-alcoholic beverages. Dinner will be followed by a silent auction in which themed gift packages will be auctioned off to the highest bidder! All proceeds will support dance companies, Los Lupeños and Los Lupeños Juvenil, to purchase costumes, fund learning experiences, and sponsor performance events that enrich the lives of our East Side San José community. Guests dance away the rest of the night to music provided by Latin Flavor DJ, Ricardo Martínez. Couples can participate in a Cumbia Contest for a prize and the honor of being voted the best! Tickets are $45 or purchase a table of 10 people for $400.00. This is a family-friendly event, although targeted at adults 18+.
Donors
We request donations to our silent auction themed gift packages, such as Family Fun Day, Self Care Saturday, Junk Foodies, Date Night, Shopping Spree, and Tolerate your Tots. Your in-kind or monetary donation will contribute to building a very attractive silent auction or offsetting event costs which in turn increase the chance of hitting or surpassing our modest fundraising target goal. Your contribution supports our nonprofit arts organization in which our main dance company has been performing and educating the community for 54 years. Donations sustain our dance programming and contribute to steady year-over-year growth. Unlike other organizations, we do not charge our performing artists a monthly fee. We provide them with costumes, resources, and learning experiences that enrich their lives and support our mission in the community. We are a mixed group, with members ranging from youth to adult, and we are focused on empowering our community, youth, and legacy. Our last 4 dance concerts have sold out. We hold a large community festival, free to the public, every May so that even folks that cannot afford a theater ticket are able to enjoy an afternoon of traditional music and dance. Our guests will most likely be members of the community, fans, friends, and exteneded family members.
