Resetting the Stage Gala
Gala/Party for Classical Academy de LafayetteApr 18, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM
The Lafayette Academy is a private K-12 school in St. Charles County. We are dedicated to classical education and promoting superior educational results. We are supported by Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan. At Lafayette Academy, your child will learn from the greatest minds in western history: Shakespeare, Socrates, Euclid, Mozart, Newton, Twain, Michelangelo, and others.
Our Goal: We strive to provide an excellent academic and character program to as many
students as possible. We do this by hiring the best teachers and adopting the best curriculum. We set our standards high and educate our students to achieve those standards.
Why is a Lafayette education so important? There has never been a time when a “rebirth” of classical education in America was more important than it is today. Education is somuch more than getting good grades, receiving admission to prestigious universities, and fulfilling state requirements.
Classical education is the avenue by which we pass the proverbial baton to the next generation ensuring cultural virtue and tradition is preserved. It is an education whose time has come…again. It equips this generation to take an active role in their historical remnant, filled with the knowledge and wisdom of the Western tradition, as well as people of virtue and character. Our students learn HOW to think, not WHAT to think. They know how to reason and communicate effectively. Our students will help sustain the basis of freedom in the 21st century.
What makes Lafayette education so effective? Lafayette is taking a conscious step away from
the fads consuming our nation’s schools, and anchoring our children’s education in the “tried and
true.” We do this by having the very best teachers, the very best books, and the very best efforts
of our students. We are in the business of forming minds, not programming machines. We are
breaking rank with modern education and instead drawing on a 2500-year history of the
Western experience.
