The Rizzo Family has been working with the Arthritis Foundation for over a decade. Anthony & Patty learned about The Arthritis Foundation after their youngest son was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA) at only three years of age. He is now 30 years old and still experiences more debilitating pain than any young person should. Most people are not aware that arthritis is the number one cause of disability in our country, affecting over 50 million Americans – many of them children. Through their work partnering with the Arthritis Foundation, they have helped to not only raise funds to aid this cause, but to create a community
here in New England where families can find resources and support. The Rizzo Family Foundation Golf Tournament is a fun day out on the green for our guests as they support an important cause. So far, this 14-year journey has raised over 2-million dollars! This helps fund the Arthritis Foundation’s important work in conquering everyday battles through life-changing information and resources, cutting-edge research, access to optimal care, funding new national Rheumatology fellowship programs, and solidifying community connections. A portion of proceeds will also be donated to the newly formed Anthony & Patty Rizzo Endowed Chair
in Rheumatology at Danbury Hospital. This event cannot have grown into the success that it is without our loyal and generous
supporters.
