Description

The Golf Tournament was established in 2003 to commemorate the life of Robin Kaplan. The primary beneficiary of the tournament has been the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) and its camp for kids, Camp Oasis. Robin grew up in Framingham, MA and graduated from Worcester State College. For most of her life, Robin had to deal with the effects of Crohn’s Disease. As with everything in her life, Robin dealt with these issues with courage, strength and dignity. Robin overcame a lengthy battle with Crohn’s Disease just before her tragic passing on September 11, 2001.

To honor Robin’s memory, the Robin Kaplan Memorial Golf Tournament was created. A portion of the proceeds raised from the event are donated to CCFA’s Camp Oasis. Camp Oasis provides an unforgettable experience for children with Crohn’s Disease, ulcerative colitis or irritable bowel disease. For children that suffer from malnutrition or from prescription side effects, or for kids that need to receive nutrition through feeding tubes at night, Camp Oasis provides an experience that cannot be provided by regular camps. A week at Camp Oasis gives kids a new experience that can change their lives forever. In 2004 the tournament funded nine campers from the New England area. This number grew to seventy-five campers in 2008! With your help and generosity, we want to keep this number growing and keep Robin’s memory alive.
