Each year (with the exception of having missed three years due to the Covid pandemic), we Dominican Sisters - Immaculate Conception Province at Rosary Hill Home in Justice, Illinois host a FREE picnic event on our grounds to show our appreciation to the residents, families, friends and benefactors of Rosary Hill Home.

This wonderful free event begins with the Holy Catholic Mass, the source and summit of our Faith which propels us to do what we do in taking care of the most vulnerable.  We own and operate this small private non-profit long-term (nursing home) care facility. 

Since we are not licensed to receive any government funding to support our apostolic mission, each year we must redouble our fundraising efforts to raise the funds to continue our mission of serving our elderly and infirm residents with dignity, respect, truth and love.  As you are well aware, the pandemic has made this more difficult than ever before.

So, this September we will host once again the “Rosary Hill Home Family Appreciation Mass and Picnic” on our grounds.  And although it is a free event to all, it serves as a wonderful opportunity to raise funds from our supporters who know and understand that we couldn’t run this Home without their ongoing financial and prayerful assistance.  This year’s picnic will be held on Sunday, September 10.

At the picnic we host a “Super Raffle” drawing in which each prize is worth at least $500.  Our selection of prizes is a mix of what our event committee dreams what people would be interested in winning and on the actual donation of our benefactors and donor organizations. All the money we raise goes directly to serving the needs of our residents and for upgrades in our home and on our property.  The proceeds from this picnic are going towards the construction of a new electronic gate for privacy and safety at our main driveway entrance.  We deal with many trespassers who think this is an open park, and so we really just want to keep our residents, employees and Sisters safe.

The names of our donors (unless they wish to remain anonymous) will reach at least 1000 people/families/businesses through our newsletter, and all those who follow our facebook page and who attend the event itself.  We are ever grateful to our donors, remembering them always in our prayers.
