We are celebrating out 10th Anniversary of the Futures/Good Cause Gifts Gala Fashion Show. The event is being held at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville, CT.  Food and drinks will be provided along with a fashion show of items that are sold at our Good Cause Stores, including a silent auction.  This year we are hoping to raise 75K to advance our mission and support our social enterprises along with some exciting new initiatives such as our creative arts program, micro-enterprises, pet therapy and the expansion of our school and facilities.

We are currently seeking donations to support this amazing community event. The items donated will be placed in our silent auction the night of the event. All donations help us raise important funds allowing us to continue our mission of providing services, employment and education to people with disabilities throughout Connecticut.

We held our first Fashion Show event in 2014 to support the expansion of a small retail shop that operated with help of volunteers and employed just a few individuals with disabilities. With the kind support of our community, that small shop – Good Cause Gifts – now employs over 30 individuals with disabilities across 3 locations in Berlin, West Hartford and in New Britain located at the Hospital for Special Care.

With your generous support of our mission over the years, we were also able to launch a culinary social enterprise, The Kitchen at Futures, that employs individuals with disabilities in its Middletown commercial kitchen and two Café’s located in New Britain and West Hartford. Through our social enterprises, we provide employment for individuals with disabilities at competitive wages and offer unique shopping and culinary experiences to our community – every dollar earned is invested back into our mission. We also own and operate a special education school that supports students from across the state and run DDS day programs with locations in Middletown and Norwich.
