I am writing to request your support in making a difference in the lives of teenagers in our community who have been diagnosed with cancer or a blood disorder through the annual Courage of Carly Fund Teen Prom.

Imagine being in high school and unable to attend the prom because a cancer diagnosis has changed your life. The fun of finding a new outfit is overshadowed by weight gain or loss from chemotherapy treatments. Asking a date to the dance may be out of the question when you are not sure if upcoming surgeries or treatments will even allow you to go. For many teens we serve, this is their reality.

Our annual Teen Prom is designed to provide these deserving teens with a night to remember. It will be a time for them to celebrate life and be around those who understand the challenges associated with a critical-illness or cancer diagnosis. We want to create an unforgettable experience for them, and we need your help to make it a success.

On Friday, June 30, we plan to transform the Pearl @ the Webb to a whole new galaxy with this year’s “Out of This World” themed prom. But we need your help before we blast off for a night of cosmic celebration! We would greatly appreciate your support in the form of an in-kind contribution (i.e., gift certificates, merchandise) to serve as special giveaways for our attendees of the Teen Prom. Your donation to the Teen Prom is tax-deductible and critically needed.

Please know that by being a part of the event, you are truly making a difference in the lives of Roswell Park’s adolescent patients. Your gift will support the ongoing mission of the Courage of Carly Fund to give every child a fighting chance by supporting them through year-round programs, like the Teen Prom, to meet their emotional and social needs.
