The Roxbury Public Library Summer Reading Program is designed to encourage children and teens from ages 0-18 to read during the summer when they are on a break from school. Studies have shown that children who do not continue to read when they're not in school will lose progress and their reading level will move backwards so they end up starting the new school year behind where they were when they ended the last one. We encourage the kids to read in a fun manner, by offering activities and incentives, as well as prize drawings kids and teens can enter by reading throughout the summer.
