Run for the Animals and Barktoberfest!
Walk/Run for Monroe County Humane AssociationOct 07, 2018 from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM
Please join us to be part of the annual community Run for the Animals & Barktoberfest event, coming up on
Sunday, October 7th. The Run for the Animals is a timed 5K run/walk and event along the Woolery Mill grounds
and Clear Creek Trail, with all of the proceeds benefiting the programs and services of MCHA. Barktoberfest,
happening both during and after the race events, includes vendors, an off-leash dog play area and tons of
other fun activities for both families and furry friends! This event is so important to the Monroe County Humane
Association and our ability to provide so many programs and services that would otherwise not exist in our
community.
MCHA aims to work towards a more humane future for Monroe County pets by coordinating accessible
veterinary care through the Nonprofit Veterinary Clinic, offering a free pet food and supply resource pantry,
humane education, funding assistance for spay/neuter surgeries, and coordinating a pet therapy program—many
lives, human and animal alike, are touched by the work of the MCHA. All this and more is only possible because
of the generous support of our community. MCHA is a private 501c3 non-profit that receives no funding from
national organizations or tax dollars.
In 2017, we welcomed over 200 runners and walkers, 100 furry friends, and over 300 Barktoberfest attendees to the event! Don’t miss one of the greatest opportunities to support local animal welfare in our community.
