This year, our class is organizing our annual silent auction fundraiser to support Cradles to Crayons Chicago. It will take place on January 31st from 5-8 pm at Park Tavern on 1645 W Jackson Blvd. 80% of the proceeds will support this incredible organization, and the remaining portion of the proceeds will support educational activities for our physician assistant class in the upcoming year. Cradles to Crayons is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing essential items such as clothing, school supplies, and other basic necessities to children and families in the Chicago area experiencing poverty or homelessness. Through volunteer efforts and community donations, the organization distributes new and gently used items free of charge to children ages 0-12. Cradles to Crayons distributes these essential items throughout the year and also undertakes seasonal initiatives to focus attention on specific children’s needs. Some examples include their “Gear Up For Winter” program, which provides warm winter gear and clothing and their “Gear Up for Baby” initiative, which provides expecting mothers and caregivers with essentials every newborn needs such as diapers, baby wipes, and baby soap. We ask for your support to further our efforts in making positive impacts within our community. We are seeking donations that we can auction off to other students, faculty, and staff at the medical center, and the public. If you wish to make a monetary donation directly to our program, we could gratefully arrange for that as well. We appreciate any assistance you can provide.
