Description

Community Challenge Weekend is put on every year by The Challenged Athletes Foundation. CAF was founded 30th years ago, to provide people with physical disabilities to empower themselves through sports. This year is the 30th anniversary of Community Challenged Weekend fueled by Toyota. This event combines our fundraising efforts with bringing out the Challenged Athletes community from all across the world to join to community and in sports to San Diego. The weekend infuses athletes with physical disabilities with people without disabilities to cycle down the coast of California, run a 5k, do a triathlon, and more. This draws people from across the country to build a stronger community. CAF pays for all expenses for our Challenged Athletes for the weekend from travel to hotel and food. Raising money is very important to our mission of giving out grants for equipment from running blades that cost over $20,000 for amputees, to basketball wheelchairs that could cost up to $6,000. Also, travel and coaching grants to have our athletes empower themselves to reach their goals in sports, as well as their dreams in life.
