Description

Hello,

My name is Samantha Lucas and I am the Public Information Officer/Community Outreach Coordinator/Secretary/Volunteer Firefighter (I wear a lot of hats, LOL) for the Maxwell Community Volunteer Fire Department ESD located in Maxwell, Texas. We are having our annual National Night Out event on October 4 from 6-8 and wanted to know if you were interested in possibly donating to our live auction?

We usually get started on planning and collecting donations several months in advance but this year was a little different for us. We lost 2 of our firefighters in the line of duty after leaving a brush fire in Lockhart on June 20th. Assistant Chief Jonathon Coco and his brother Firefighter Hunter Coco. We are an extremely close-knit fire department and consider each other more so family than just people that volunteer together. The loss of the Coco Brother's was very traumatizing and shocking (understatement) to not only us, but our community, as we are very community oriented. Our community is very rural and small so we all know each other and interact with Maxwell not only in the capacity as first responders but leaders and our community rely upon us to make a positive impact. At first, we didn't think we had it in us to do a good event this year but then we wanted to make sure we honor our boys by putting on the BEST NNO we've ever done in their honor. So here we are rallying to make a good event.

If you have the ability to donate anything we would be forever grateful and if you can't we still appreciate you! I just thought I would take a chance by reaching out.
