San Diego Fire Rescue 5K, Kid's Run & Safety Expo

The inaugural San Diego Fire Rescue 5K & Kid's Run will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Embarcadero Marina Park South. The event will feature a 5K, kid's fun run, and a fire safety and health expo.
The 5K will start and end at Embarcadero Marina Park South, on a beautiful course highlighting the best of the Downtown waterfront. Participants will enjoy views of the San Diego Bay, Coronado Bridge, Embarcadero Marina, Seaport Village, and the Midway Aircraft Carrier.Â
The kid's fun run is an exciting event designed to offer a family-friendly activity, while encouraging the importance of health and fitness in a fun, non-competitive environment.
The fire safety and health expo will launch San Diego Fire-Rescue Department’s Fire Prevention Week. Activities at the Expo include: SDG&E fire safety house, SDFD demonstrations, photos with Sparky the Fire Dog, CPR/AED training by San Diego Project Heartbeat, fire apparatus, and more.

100% of the net proceeds from this event go directly to the mission of the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation to provide San Diego first responders with funding to support enhanced equipment, training, and technology that will allow them to better protect the citizens and property of San Diego and the surrounding region from the ravages of fire, natural disasters, and unforeseen injuries and illness.
