Description

The Stop Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) program will be holding a fundraiser to help provide child abuse awareness lessons to students in southeastern Wisconsin. We currently provide lessons for preschoolers, kindergarteners, 2nd, 4th, and 6th grade students in Racine and Kenosha County’s schools. We are asking for your support for our upcoming fundraiser to further our mission.

After a two-year hiatus, SCAN is excited to be holding our 10th SCAN’s Cones for Kids fundraiser. The event will be held the evening of Wednesday 7/20/22 and include frozen treat tasting, family activities, and a silent auction for family-friendly prizes. This is a unique fundraiser since it allows kids to help other kids. We expect 250 people to attend and will be reaching many, many more through social media promotion.

I'm contacting you to request a donation for our silent auction. Since we are looking for desirable items, it would be great if you could provide a gift card, product package, or any other item you feel appropriate. In exchange, we can provide your organization recognition at the event. SCAN would greatly appreciate any item that you are able to provide. While we could wait right up until the event to include your item, the sooner we receive confirmation, the sooner we could add your information onto our social media promotion.

During the 2021-2022 school year, SCAN is teaching lessons to over 10,000 youth. Students are taught to recognize abusive situations, to disclose abuse should it occur, and to identify sources of support. Above all, we want children to understand that abuse is never the fault of the child. The resources raised at past year’s Cones for Kids allowed us to expand our programming into more schools so more students can access this important personal safety information. Funds raised at the 2022 Cones For Kids, will continue to expand this initiative.

If you have any questions about SCAN’s services or the Cones For Kids fundraiser, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time and consideration. We hope that you will find SCAN a worthy cause!
