Description

Thank you for taking a few minutes out of your busy day to read about the 2024 Scholarship Soirée and Silent Auction. The Scholarship Soirée and auction benefit the LGBT Chamber of Commerce Foundation Scholarship Fund. Since 2011, the LGBT Chamber Foundation has awarded more than $150,000 in scholarship grants to deserving LGBTQ+ and ally students across Texas.

The Foundation makes scholarship grants to students who self-identify as LGBTQ+, children of LGBTQ+ parent(s), and LGBTQ+ allies who have worked in support of the community in a significant way. The scholarship grants may be used for any accredited post-secondary education, including traditional colleges and universities, trade schools, and certificate programs. Applications are accepted for all degree programs, from undergraduate studies to Ph.D. candidates.

Past recipients of LGBT Chamber Foundation Scholarships have gone on to impressive medicine, law, and academia careers. Our scholars have interned at NASA's Kennedy Space Center and the United States Attorney's Office, and one is a Rhodes Scholar.

The Scholarship Fund is just one way the Foundation works to achieve its mission to develop leaders in the LGBT community. In addition to providing scholarships for general studies, the LGBT Chamber of Commerce Foundation offers several specialized scholarships. They are:

•   Rob Ruhlin Law Scholarship

•   Film & Television Scholarship

•   Veronica Marcum Nursing Scholarship

•   STEM Scholarship

The Chamber Foundation also administers Pride Dallas’ Michael Doughman Memorial Scholarship and the United Court of the Lone Star Empire Scholarship.

We hope you will consider supporting the 2024 Scholarship Soirée by donating gift certificates, merchandise, or services to the silent auction. In recognition, your company name/information will be listed online in our social media posts and media releases.

Please feel free to contact either of us or Erica Mendez at the Chamber office, erica.mendez@lgbtchamber.com, 214-865-6548. Thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration and support of the LGBT Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
