On behalf of the Office of Nutrition and Food Services for the Department of Juvenile Justice, we are seeking support through donations to celebrate the hard working, essential food service staff on School Lunch Hero Day.

Between preparing healthy food, adhering to strict nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile, nutrition professionals have a lot on their plate. To celebrate their hard work and commitment, DJJ will celebrate School Lunch Hero Day on May 5th. School Lunch Hero Day provides an opportunity for students, staff and communities to thank those who provide healthy meals to students each day, holidays, weekends, 365 days a year.

To celebrate the Department of Juvenile Justice’s school nutrition professionals, the Office of Nutrition and Food Services will host a celebration cookout that includes food, games, and fun. Therefore, we are seeking donations for raffle giveaways to support the celebration of these devoted professionals.
