The first ever School Nurse Day Celebration is being created to honor and recognize school nurses in the 10 counties in and around Dallas. School nurses are an assest to students, staff, and the community by promoting healthy lifestyles, maintaining state and local district policies, bridging the gap between the education and medical communities, and providing support to families in need.

National School Nurse Day coincides with Teacher Appreciation week. This event will bring together hundreds of school nurses to be recognized for years of service, community impact, and overall recognition of their practice. Nurses are always giving of themselves. This would be an opportunity to give something back to the nurses who give so much to others.
