Second Annual GBS-CIDP Foundation Walk & Roll – Twin Cities
Walk/Run for GBS-CIDP Foundation InternationalJun 01, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
This local sponsorship opportunity is for the benefit of the GBS-CIDP Foundation International, a qualified 501(c)(3) organization (tax ID:22-2474769). The Foundation is the preeminent global non-profit organization supporting individuals and their families affected by Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), and related syndromes such as multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN) through a commitment to support, education, research, and advocacy.
Last year, the inaugural GBS-CIDP Foundation Walk & Roll – Twin Cities was an ENORMOUS SUCCESS, raising more than $25,000, all of which went to GBS-CIDP research. Nearly 200 people attended the 2018 event, and it was the largest grossing Walk and Roll in the U.S.
For 2019, the event is expanding, but the format remains largely unchanged. The 1-mile leisurely walk and roll will take place June 1st (9 a.m.) at Battle Creek Regional Park in Maplewood, Minnesota. The proceeds from the Walk & Roll support scientific innovation, a quicker diagnosis, and better treatments for those stricken by this devastating illness. We are walking for RESEARCH, and each walk is one mile closer to overcoming the challenges of living with GBS, CIDP and MMN.
Based on the early response, we are expecting more than 250 participants for the event. Upon conclusion of the Walk and Roll, we will host a raffle and silent auction. Last year, we raised roughly $5,000 from this portion of the event. To date, we have procured gift cards and merchandise from local companies worth in excess of $3,000.
