Greenway Institute for the Arts values the significance of arts education and the promotion of creativity in our students. That's why we are happy to share the inspiring story of the exceptional talent shown by our after-school program students at Fairfax High.

In the spring of 2023, the students wrote a musical script entitled "Haley's Cove" and performed it before a live audience during a showcase reading. They received feedback on the script, which helped them understand the audience's perspective and improve their script.

But the journey didn't end there. During the summer, the student writers participated in a 5-week immersive workshop under the guidance of a Drama Teaching Artist and a Dramaturg. This opportunity allowed them to further develop and edit their musical script and learn from industry professionals.

We're excited to announce that the Greenway Court Theatre will produce the Winter Musical production of Haley's Cove on December 7th, 2023. This is a testament to our students' incredible talent and hard work, as well as the capacity of arts education to transform lives.
