Description

The SEJSCC is a 501 c3 non-profit organization providing support and services to communities in LA ad OC with programs in Japanese language instruction, judo (wrestling), kendo (fencing), taiko drums, hula, ukulele, ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement), basketball youth programs as well as events for our elder senior members. Each group offers a variety of engaging activities year-round, aimed at involving our members and instilling the values of community service, fostering grop involvement and promoting teamwork.

This year is extra special--we're celebrating our Center's 100th anniversary! Our biggiest fundraiser will be the popular raffle on Sunday, June 8th, during our 62nd Annual Cultural Festival & Ondo on June 7-8, 2025. We'd love your support through a tax-deductible prize donation-whether in the form of services, merchandise, or gift certificates valued at a minimum of $25. The proceeds generated from our event ensure the funding of our Center's activities and events like our prestigious Awards Dinner paying tribute to the outstanding volunteers of our Community Center, endorsed by the Mayor of Norwalk, while also celebrating the achievement of high school students awarded college scholarships. Another special annual event honors our seniors aged 80 years old and above with a Japanese-style lunch, gifts, and entertainment provided by members of our center. It is a small way to express our appreciation for all their past and present contributions to our community.

As a token of our appreciation for your donation, we commit to prominently featuring the donor's name's signage throughout our two-day event and give a shout-out to all the donors before the raffle drawing. Additionally, your suuport will be acknowledged in our newsletter, the Tomodachi, which will reach over 6,000 members and suppporters of the SEJSCC.
