Share the Warmth
Gala/Party for Partnership for Youth Inc./ AmeriCorps St. LouisNov 10, 2023 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM
AmeriCorps St. Louis is a 501c3 non-profit organization incorporated as Partnership for Youth, headquartered in the Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis. Since 1994, the AmeriCorps St. Louis has attracted a diverse group of Members from all over the nation who commit 11 months of their lives to serving their community in disaster relief, conservation, and wildland fire. Our Members are trained to respond to a wide-variety of disasters both locally and nationally. After floods, hurricanes, forest fires, and tornadoes, our Members serve to help affected communities and individuals recover.
One such emergency is close to home and reoccurs every year. In 2009, at the urgent request of the City Department of Human Services, AmeriCorps St. Louis began partnering with Winter Outreach to provide emergency shelter to the homeless when the temperature drops below 20 degrees. At these frigid temperatures, the St. Louis City homeless population of around 1,300 people face life-threatening consequences without a warm place to sleep. Each winter, AmeriCorps St. Louis is ready to open the doors of our Winter Warming shelter to those in need.
In order to continue responding to this critical unmet need in our city, we need the help of our St. Louis community. On November 10, 2023, AmeriCorps St. Louis will host its 13th annual “Share the Warmth” fundraising event, which helps raise the funds we need to operate our shelter.
