Cedar Lane Elementary is located in the heart of Ashburn, VA. We are a very active PTA with a long standing administration and many teachers who have been with the school since it opened in 2005. As many PTAs do, we provide reimbursements for supplies for our teachers, pay for our teachers to attend staff development opportunities, and purchase new school technology for our students. This year, we have also started a "school store" for the children to purchase school supplies in the morning. After the nearly two years they have had with Covid-19, seeing their eyes light up over ten cent erasers is amazing.

Our most recent charitable event took place in December. Our school community donated thousands of full sized shampoos, conditioners, deodorants, hand soaps, etc. We were able to assemble 120 large hygiene kits for Loudoun Hunger Relief. Additionally, we collected donations for Loudoun County Animal Shelter's Pet Pantry (like a food pantry for pet owners). We created kits for dogs that included dry and wet foot, treats and toys that were made by our students, using tennis balls and old t-shirts. In all, we donated 1,019 pounds of goods.

We will be holding a silent auction in May 2022. This auction will be held in person and virtually, so that everyone may attend based on their comfort level. We are fundraising for new permanent playground equipment for our youngest students, At this time, these students do not have access to a playground. They play on a blacktop.
