We are pleased to announce the 15th Annual Silver Bell Sprint 5k Run/Walk and Fun Run on Friday, December 2, 2016 in downtown Dalton.  All proceeds after expenses will benefit the programs of Big Brothers Big Sisters of NWGA Mountains.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is known as the premiere mentoring program across the nation.  Our local organization has been mentoring youth for over 47 years.  Big Brothers Big Sisters of NWGA Mtns. has two programs.  The community based Big Brothers Big Sisters Program provides mentors to youth that participate in activities in the community.  Last year, we provided matches to over 80 children through the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program.

The Buddy Program is our in-school mentoring program.  Bigs meet with their Little in the school setting one hour per week.  Funds raised during the run, provides at-risk children with a volunteer who spends quality time each week at a school in our community.  In 2016, more than 300 Buddy matches were made in over 40 area schools.

With your help, we can continue growing and reaching more children.  We would appreciate your participation in our upcoming event.

This event continues to grow each year.  Expected attendance is approximately 1100, with well over half of those being runners.  This is a wonderful opportunity in which the entire community may participate either as a spectator, volunteer, or participant, and give something back to the community.  Entertaining warm-up exercises, energy snacks, goody bags and an awards ceremony all combine for an exciting evening.
