Description
On Thursday, April 16, 2015, Provident will host an inaugural benefit—
SIP, SAVOR and SHOP to Stomp Out the Stigma (of mental health) at the Kirkwood Train Station to raise support and awareness for our mission … to help individuals and families to a brighter future through mental health counseling, suicide prevention and community outreach.
Please consider making a food and/or silent auction item in support of our event. All organizations who donate will be recognized in promotional materials and on our website.
Our aim is to spotlight Kirkwood retailers’ products and services.
Provident, a United-Way funded 501(c)(3) agency, founded in 1860, assists over 35,000 people each year through its—
• 24/7 Crisis Hotline – 314.647.HELP or 1.800.273.TALK
• Individual, family and group counseling at six local locations
• Community Outreach, offering nine after school programs in area elementary schools
With one in five adults suffering from a mental health disorder in any given year, our services are critical to the community.
Our event will showcase local artists, offer a silent auction, and serve beverages and light appetizers in the historic atmosphere of the Kirkwood train station.
