Description

We are excited to announce that our very own, renowned San Jose Youth Symphony (SJYS) will be holding a Silent Auction at our Bon Voyage Gala Concert on Friday, June 20, 2025, to raise funds for its Philharmonic Orchestra’s upcoming 2025 International Summer Concert Tour to Poland and Czech Republic! This auction will be held at the School of Arts & Culture, at the Mexican Heritage Plaza, before, during the intermission, and after the concert, as well as online, prior to the concert date.

This year our concert will feature rising young violinists and Philharmonic Orchestra musicians An-Po Chen & Saarthak Shankavaram, performing Sarasate’s Navarra for Two Violins and Orchestra. The Philharmonic Orchestra will also perform Gershwin’s delightful Funny Face Overture, and end excitingly with the ever-popular Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony! The Bon Voyage Gala Concert promises to be an exciting event once again!

We are actively seeking donations and hope you can support SJYS by contributing to this very important fundraiser. All auction items are greatly appreciated: gift certificates, sports/theater tickets, getaway packages, personal services, merchandise, etc. All donors will be listed in the Philharmonic Orchestra’s concert programs for the entire season and will be offered free tickets to one of its concerts. For more information about SJYS, please visit http://www.sjys.org/. All donations are tax-deductible, as SJYS is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization (Tax ID # 91-2166427), and all proceeds benefit SJYS.

The San Jose Youth Symphony is one of the oldest and finest youth orchestras on the West Coast, providing music education and performance opportunities to children and youth in San Jose and many of its surrounding communities. We have 13 different orchestras and ensembles, and more than 500 students enrolled annually.

Now, in our 73rd season, members from families across the Bay Area are part of SJYS’s prestigious, performance-based, music education program. Our premier Philharmonic Orchestra performs regularly during the season in the historic California Theatre in downtown San Jose, under the direction of Music Director and conductor Yair Samet.

Please help us make this event a huge success and keep orchestral music performance alive in Silicon Valley! Send your donation no later than May 31st to the SJYS office at the address listed at the bottom of this letter. You can also contact the office to coordinate arrangements for delivery and receipt of donations or send gift certificates via email to sjys@sjys.org.

On behalf of the San Jose Youth Symphony, I thank you very much for your attention and any support you can provide.

Sincerely,

Shoko Michael
